So it's official. After four and half years in Memphis we are finally packing our bags and heading west. The movers come in one week and then it's adios to Bluff City.
I have some seriously mixed feelings here. On one side of the coin, I am ready to co-habitate with my husband again. Living apart for the past four months has made me realize that I still like the guy. Plus, I didn't sign up to be a single parent. Major kudos to those who do it full time without a light at the end of the tunnel.
Despite my excitement toward a warm body on the other side of the bed, I am going to miss Memphis. Well, not so much Memphis as the people here. I have met some really terrific folks and I am sad that I won't see their faces on a regular basis. I will not miss the hour long commute (both ways), the crazy drivers, and high crime rate.
I should be used to this since we have moved every few years since 2002, but it doesn't really get any easier. Maybe this time we'll stick around for a while. I hope so, or I'll have to change my blog title!
